September 4
I wake up after half past seven and begin packing quickly as the rain starts to fall. Before leaving, there’s a simple breakfast but no coffee. Just after half past nine, I’m on the saddle, the parliament behind me as I head south.
The road is much like yesterday—flat, with frequent “slack engine” moments—and the rain grows heavier with each mile. I pass through small communities without really noticing them.
When I get to Vordingborg the clock has struck half past eleven.
Now it’s time for a coffee break. Vordingborg is a fairly small town, about 12000 inhabitants and is the central city of Zealand.

Vordingborg mainstreet almost empty but they had a nice café Othello
Vordingborg is located at on the southernmost part of the island of Zealand and is connected by a long bridge to Masnedø over Storstrømmen and I have to cross it to get to the island of Falster and on to Gedser and the ferry to Rostock.
The bridge, Queen Margrethe II’s Bridge is newly built, the old Storstrømm Bridge is closed due to age. It is four km long!

Dronning Margrethe II’s over the strait of Masnedø, but trhe cyclepåath was bumpy like hell
The bicycle lane on the bridge feels like riding a jackhammer, with every meter delivering a tiny jolt until I wobble my way to the other side.
Then, in the pouring rain, I finally have to put on my rain pants. Upon reaching Nykøbing Falster, I stop at a well-stocked bike shop, partly to “just look artound” and partly to give my legs a well-earned rest.
Back on the bike after fifteen minutes and take me out of town. After a few km I get a puncture so I have to change the tube.

Flat tyre, and fortunately no rain at the time
15 minutes later everything is fixed. Now it’s just to pedal in the rain another 25 km before I arrive at the ferry terminal in Gedser.
The ferry departs at 18:00 so there will be no more stops if I have to catch it. I arrive just before half past six and after a small mistake at the terminal I can buy my ticket myself from a machine, 135 DKK or about 200 SEK costs the two hour trip over to Rostock.
The ferry departs on time and there is a bit of a rough sea I noticed
See yeah Later from Rostock and Germany
